Minnesota's humidity felt like being in a warm hug. Two tornado warnings were issued during my stay, but unfortunately, I only saw thousands of lightning bolts, quarter-size hail, flooding, and high winds--no tornado. Possibly next time?

Staying in a hotel room w my 18 yr old sister and 21 yr old brother was an odd treat. Spent a lot of time in the bathroom smoking mj through an apple. Other than that, there were a lot of farts and air condition debates to deal with.

I rode on a boat on the mississippi river. the sun was setting, people were swinging off ropes from green green trees on the shore, the temp was perfect...it was amazing.

I shot a clay pigeon with a shotgun. Two, actually. So, yeah. I could see how serial killers really get a taste for blood after the first one. Invigorating.

I was supposed to read a section of the Bible at my grandpa's memorial. I made it through two lines, cried, and had to have my mom come up to read for me. All ended well, though, because his friends graciously told me story after story of his drunk and raucous youth at the reception. It definitely cheered me up picturing my grandpa drunk off his ass playing bongos at a business dinner.

Well, I think it's safe to say that Portland is now officially committed to summer weather. The sun feels good on my pink pasty flesh. Yesterday afternoon I spent some time in a hammock with a tequila infused beverage and a ball of yarn. If Zack had been there it would have been nearly perfect. He works most days from 3 to 11, a change which has been quite difficult to adjust to. Late nights alone do not suit me well and I am struggling to complete the daunting task of leaving the house by myself, although I did take a very liberating drive to and from my brother's house yesterday. I like a good drive now and again.

It is officially birthday season in my family:
June 10 - Georgie Fruit
June 22 - me
June 23 - brother John
June 24 - sister Genevieve
June 30 - Zack + Zack's Mama
July 1 - my Mama

This year is the first that I've actually celebrated together with my siblings. It's been kind of mind blowing getting to know them a bit better which, I think, has helped me to connect some dots in my life that were otherwise scattered.

And how is Georgie Fruit doing you ask? Well, he too is excited about the benefits of warmer weather, the main one being the influx of curious bugs that fly in through the window just out of reach of his furry paws. But sometimes not out of reach..

Hello Bloggie Friends, Ladies & Gentlemen.

Married life has been - - blurry with lots of rearranging of furniture and constant cleaning of the kitchen.
Otherwise, + the before mentioned facts, it has been fantastic. I have seen Claire a total of two times, Lehua once, and Beth zero. Right now, I am working on a very campy papercut. And missing the summers of total freedom - sleep(overs), concerts, and lots of sweat.

Let's plan a camping trip in the fall, you all.

This one goes out to Beth... happy Twenty Three! Remember being 19 together in Stewart? How strange. Birthdays make the miles seem further >>> wish I was there with you today!

I work at 7 Eleven now

Lately I've been working the evening shift at 7 Eleven. I mostly like it except for the fact that I feel like I'm there all the time and have to leave Beth and Georgie for eight hours to repeatedly make coffee. Still, money is nice. And it's not a video store owned by douche bags. Bonus!

Things I've Seen So Far:

* A drunken over-weight man with his shirt completely open, eating three corn dogs while deciding upon his purchase of several bottles of malt liquor and warming lube.

* A polite man who also had attached to his belt a large machete with brass knuckles attached to the end.

* A woman who was very proud of the fact that she had made it onto the cover of Busted Magazine.

* A duck who used to hang out in front of the door until I tried to feed it a banana.

* An old bus driver who doesn't actually buy anything but likes to come in and tell me about how he grew up during the depression.

I'm sure there is so much left to discover.

It's officially Georgie Fruit's 2nd Birthday today! Beth and I accidentally celebrated it two days ago when he got a Facebook notification from Vincent. Out of guilt we then rushed out to the store to get him a can of bbq beans and a bag of milk flavored treats. Alas, we could not afford the Booda Dome litter box...

Food stamps can only buy so many things.

Maybe we should consider the pink chair that we picked up for free off of Craigslist as his early Birthday present. He's taken quite a liking to it.

I'm starting to get headaches again everyday and am trying to convince myself that I don't have a brain tumor. Fresh air seems to help out quite a bit though. Today Zack and I went to an open house just for fun on the NE side of town and then walked through the neighborhood admiring all the pretty old houses with vegetable gardens in the front yard. A neighborhood cat even stopped to greet us and then quickly ran off at the sight of a bird. It is raining today and I don't mind one bit. Is it really summer in other parts of the world?
sweet shows in LA lately. the lady and i saw canon blue & miike snow, the union line & suckers & local natives this week. stars is playing the troubadour next week and there are a couple sweet free shows we're heading to soon. we don't like LA, but we're ok w the weather, shows, and beach.

i'm flying to minnesota at the end of the month. anyone wanna come with me? it's for my grandpa's memorial so it'll be fun!!!!!
